Capturing Authentic Stories. Preserving Culture
First Nations Led Storytelling for Future Generations.
Welcome to my site. I am Mark Thomson, a Yorta Yorta and Woiwurrung filmmaker, artist, and photographer. I partner with communities across Australia, creating culturally safe films, art, and photography. My goal is to capture and preserve authentic stories, knowledge, and culture for future generations.
Here, you can explore a collection of work that celebrates the strength and vibrancy of First Nations voices. Each piece offers a window into the deep connections between land, culture, and community.

Mark Thomson
I am Mark Thomson, a Yorta Yorta and Woiwurrung filmmaker, artist, and photographer with Irish and Scottish heritage. For over 14 years, I have had the privilege of partnering with communities across Australia to tell their stories.
My work is guided by a deep respect for cultural safety and a commitment to excellence. I believe the most important stories should be captured with community, not from it. This is why my approach is built on a small footprint.
This non-invasive method creates a comfortable and respectful space, allowing us to truly capture the stories that reflect our community's cultural strength. From this partnership, we deliver high-quality productions that help preserve culture and connect with audiences in a meaningful way. My ultimate goal is to honour and amplify your story, creating a record of knowledge and voices for future generations.
