About

I’m a filmmaker, photographer, and artist based in Victoria, working with communities to tell stories that matter. My work is grounded in respect, collaboration, and truth-telling - creating films, photographs, and art that reflect the strength and spirit of people and place. Learn more about my journey below.

I am Mark Thomson, a Yorta Yorta and Woiwurrung filmmaker, artist, and photographer with Irish and Scottish heritage. For over 14 years, I have had the privilege of partnering with communities across Australia to tell their stories.

My work is guided by a deep respect for cultural safety and a commitment to excellence. I believe the most important stories should be captured with community, not from it. This is why my approach is built on a small footprint.

This non-invasive method creates a comfortable and respectful space, allowing us to truly capture the stories that reflect our community's cultural strength. From this partnership, we deliver high-quality productions that help preserve culture and connect with audiences in a meaningful way. My ultimate goal is to honour and amplify your story, creating a record of knowledge and voices for future generations.
